Top Ten Tuesday #2

Top Ten Tuesday @ The Broke and the Bookish. Writing prompts (posted in advance) for “10 Books That …”

November 29: Holiday Gift Guide freebie (ten books to buy the YA lover in your life, 10 books to buy for your dad, etc.)

5: The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins
It’s just one of those series that all teens know nowadays. They may be repealed by the popularity of it, or attracted to it due to the movies. Either way, it’s a good place to start.

4: Twilight (Twilight #1) by Stephenie Meyer

Just give it a go. The first one has a few mistakes in it, but trust me, from series like Throne of Glass, I’ve read worse debut novels.
This first instalment sucks compared to the rest of them. If they are a fan of Harry Potter, and that seems like everybody in the world aged 7-30, then suggest this with the phrase “HP fanfiction”. Boom, it’s sold.
2: Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1)by Richelle Mead
If they’re not a fan of Twilight, but loved the fierceness of Katniss and the girly drama from Gossip Girl, tell them to check out this series. It surprisingly has some dark themes, despite the cliche title.

1: The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1)by Rick Riordan
100% the best series to recommend. Easy to read, to follow, to laugh and fall in love with. This series is a short read that’ll easily get somebody hooked into reading!
