Review: Hotbloods

Hotbloods (Hotbloods, #1)Hotbloods by Bella Forrest

My rating: 3.5/5 stars.

I read Hotbloods in one sitting via my Kindle, and loved it! The beginning was a bit slow, as I find many fantasy novels are (mainly because we know the mysterious people aren’t human! Gasp!). It oddly reminded me of Ruby Dixon‘s space universe. This was more centred on vampires, though.

I like that Riley had two other best friends, and I also didn’t mind that they disappear and shack up with the other two Hotbloods.

The love dynamic was really good and perfect for anybody who enjoys a cliche love-affair, like me!

The plot was surprisingly layered and I thoroughly enjoyed the world built by Bella Forrest. The supernatural creatures are unique and refreshing, and the political clashes are excellent!

I will continue on, purely because I enjoy the world so much. The “cliffhanger” didn’t really hook me, but that’s okay. I’m here for the characters and the romance basically.
